Nancy Lent Lanoue, Watercolor Artist

About my art:
Thank you for visiting my watercolor gallery!
I have lived in Vermont all my life and never tire of the state's beauty. I am surrounded by apple blossoms in Spring and  emerald mountains in the summer. By Fall, dazzling maple leaves brighten the horizon before snow drifts carpet the hills and valleys. Endless hours spent in this setting since childhood in South Strafford, VT are expressed in my paintings.  Often, farms and small towns appear in my images with forms, colors, and moods combining in harmonious and contrasting ways.

 Background

My first art teacher was my father, Harlow Lent, a fine artist.  A favorite passtime growing up was drawing and painting.  Formal training includes two years as an art major at Blackburn College in Carlinville, Ill.  and a concentration in textiles and design at the University of Vermont.  About twenty years ago I started taking watercolor classes. Since 1997 I have studied steadily by attending courses and workshops, especially with Peter Huntoon, Bill Lambert, Peter Granucci, and Susan Abbott. I love to paint and I never stop learning!
